My name is Eden Marco. I am a sophomore studying Public Health and Political Science. I joined SWAB this year to have the ability to use my voice on campus to help others live a more healthy life! One of my biggest goals is to graduate Optometry School and become an eye doctor.
Hi! I’m Kelsey, a freshman Kinesiology major at UMass Amherst and a new swab member! My interests include exercising, DIY projects, marine life, animals and trying new things!
Hey everyone, my name is Deirdre and I’m a sophomore biology major, with a minor in Spanish and a certificate in reproductive justice! I love hiking, going on adventures with my friends, and having dance parties! I joined SWAB because I am interested in how wellbeing is perceived among students and am specifically interested in access to care and wellness resources!
Hi! My name is Maggie and I’m a sophomore at UMass majoring in public health, communications, and Spanish. I joined SWAB because I think it is so important that student voices are heard on campus, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing! In my free time I like to read, draw, hike, and travel. Although social distancing has changed my daily life for the time being, I am using this time away from friends to focus on self-care, and appreciating the little things that I usually take for granted.
Hello! My name is Danny, I’m a Leo for those who care, I’m a member of SWAB and a soon to be junior nutrition major on the pre-physician assistant track. On campus I work as a Peer Mentor in a freshman residence hall, am involved with Club Pre-PA, sit on the faculty senate Health Council, and work off campus as a Certified Nursing Aide at a long term care facility. Health and wellness are everything to me as they keep us rooted and able to bring a positive impact to the world. Throughout my life, I see so much need for accessibility, education and compassion when it comes to health and wellbeing which is why I joined SWAB to help promote and act on those in my daily life on and off campus.
Hi, I’m Jess, I have been on SWAB since my sophomore year, and I am a senior. I’m majoring in Public Health and I care a lot about the health of students on our UMass Campus. I’m also a Resident Assistant on campus for freshmen, and I volunteer with retired racing greyhounds in my free time!
My name is Brooke Ackerman and I am a member of the class of 2020. I am a senior biology major in the honors college here, at UMass, and after graduation, I hope to attend medical school. I joined SWAB because during my time at UMass, I have been involved in various extra-curricular activities that I believe gave me a unique insight into the needs and desires of the UMass Amherst community. I am passionate about health services and recently discovered the amazing resources we have here. As a SWAB member, I aim to spread awareness of these resources and improve them to best target the needs of the students. A fun fact about me is that I researched sea turtles in the UMass Digital Life Lab during my sophomore year!
